A great low-tech item for facilitators and mediators: genius pads

Genius PadsA little while back I facilitated a retreat for a group of university senior cabinet members who wanted to work through some tiring tensions. On one of our days together, I had them use sticky notes for an Affinity Grouping exercise designed to help them sift through lots of ideas in an efficient and creative way. I wish I’d known then about the existence of Genius Pads.

Even the largest of the traditional-sized sticky notes aren’t very big. Genius Pads are giant sticky notes that make the normal ones look downright minuscule. At 30cm x 30cm (11.81″ x 11.81″) and stacks of 80, 150 and 300 sheets, there’s tons of writing room for wall-sized exercises.

I can see lots of use for them in my facilitation work and think I’ll pack a stack for when I’m in the mediation room, too. If you’re in the U.S or Canada, visit MegaSticky, and for U.K. delivery, visit ArashandKelly.

Tip o’ the blog goes to Techie Diva for her post on this cool item!
