Manage Email Overload with ClearContext Outlook Add-In

This post is for those of you who use Microsoft Outlook. A while back I wrote about my Favorite Email Add-In: GTD. Well, it’s time for an update.
I enjoyed the elegance of the GTD add-in and the way it simplified dealing with lots of email coming in, but I got tired of two problems: It kept changing the locations of the toolbars at the top of my Outlook screen and, with way too much frequency, caused Outlook to have trouble closing when I powered down my computer. After several re-installs to try to fix it, I began the hunt for a better add-in.
I’m writing this post because I’ve used ClearContext for months now and recommend it highly. No bugginess, easy power downs, fantastic email handling and filing. I particularly like that with ClearContext, you can:
- Create appointments and tasks from an email with a single click.
- Defer messages for a set number of days or until a specific date, at which time the message will re-appear in your inbo for action.
- Organize and view your calendar and email topics by project.
- Set it to help you prioritize your inbox automatically, so you can immediately attend to the messages you consider most important.
ClearContext’s basic version is free and you can try a trial of the Pro version without charge. If you decide you want to buy the Pro version, which is what I use, then bookmark this page because, until early November 2006, I can help you get a discount.
When you buy, if you enter CC15-15750 in the Coupon Code box, you’ll get $15 off the purchase price and I’ll get a discount off the next upgrade.
