PureText: Quite Possibly My Favorite Computer Tool

September 4, 2006 ·

Sometimes it’s the little technical tools that make the biggest difference. PureText is one of those for me.

Have you ever needed to copy text from a document or web page but didn’t want all the formatting that came along for the ride? PureText to the rescue.

This little piece of software strips the formatting, HTML and other unwanted background stuff from text you’ve copied to your clipboard. In the click of your mouse button. And it’s free.

I’ve used it for years and it’s incredibly simple to install and use. It isn’t buggy and does exactly what it promises. I use it so much I can’t believe I haven’t written about it here before. Did I mention it’s free?

To get your own copy, visit the PureText 2.0 home page. Steve Miller will give you the skinny on its uses and you’ll find the download link there too.
